Quality Policy

CONTECSAN is a Radiological Protection Technical Unit authorized by the Nuclear Safety Council (UTPR/Z-001) for the provision of services in radioactive facilities other than nuclear fuel cycle facilities, of second and third categories, defined in Title III of the Regulation on nuclear and radioactive facilities, and other activities related to exposure to ionizing radiation, approved by Royal Decree 1217/2024, of December 3, as well as in X-ray facilities for medical diagnostic purposes regulated by Royal Decree 1085/2009, of July 3, which approves the Regulation on the installation and use of X-ray equipment for medical diagnostic purposes, the performance of leak testing on sealed radioactive sources, and the performance of activities for issuing radiological verification certificates for equipment, with a view to their type approval as radioactive apparatus.

The activities of CONTECSAN authorized as a Radiological Protection Technical Unit mainly consist of issuing certificates regarding radiological protection and quality assurance in industrial radioactive facilities and hospital radiotherapy, nuclear medicine, and radiodiagnostic facilities. These certifications encompass all aspects of design, commissioning, operation, inspection, and quality control applicable to the radiological safety and quality assurance of radioactive facilities.

CONTECSAN is committed to developing and implementing a Quality Management System based on the UNE-EN ISO/9001 standard. The objective of this Quality Management System is to guarantee the required quality in each of the activities performed by our company, based on the following guidelines:

  • Comply with national legislation and regulations regarding radiological protection, occupational risk prevention, and quality management.

  • Meet the needs and requirements of our clients by providing an efficient and rigorous service, aimed at achieving their maximum satisfaction.

  • Establish and document a systematic procedure of action to ensure the quality of the processes in all activities performed.

  • Ensure that the Quality Management System is known and adhered to by all company personnel.

  • Ensure that this System is kept up to date and periodically reviewed.

  • Pursue a commitment to continuous improvement and carry out any necessary corrective and preventive actions.

  • Provide appropriate continuous training to all employees according to their respective activities.

CONTECSAN undertakes to periodically review this Quality Policy to establish and review the objectives of the Quality Management System. Furthermore, an internal audit program will be established to ensure its compliance.
